    Description

Antique American Arts & Crafts Sterling Silver Art Silver Shop Chicago Tray
Presented is an impressive antique American sterling silver tray, dating to
circa 1912-1920. The tray is by the Art Silver Shop, an American Arts &
Crafts movement silver company operating in Chicago c1912-1930s. True to the
style of the Arts & Crafts movement, the tray is handwrought with an
appealing hand hammered finish subtly visible in the surface. The tray is
overall simple in design but elegant, with a decorative design around the rim
almost like stylized petals. Please note, we have for sale a matching teapot by
the same maker and in the same pattern, which you can find by searching 'Art
    Silver Shop' in our storefront.
This piece is in great overall condition. There is only minor surface wear to
the tray, commensurate with age and use. There are no splits, no dents, no
breaks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
The tray is stamped sterling on the underside as well as the maker's mark for
the Art Silver Shop in Chicago and 'Hand Made.'
The tray measures about 15 1/4 inches in diameter, and about ¾ of an inch
high at the rim. The useable surface area (inside the rim) is about 11 ¾ inches
    in diameter.
The tray weighs 1056 grams or 37.2 regular ounces.
