Turn-of-the-century sterling silver tea tray. Made by Gorham in Providence. Plain and shaped oval well. Scrolled rim and chased garlands, blossoms, and wave-like scrolled cartouches on shoulder. Open c-scroll end handles. Rests on four supports. Exuberant late Victorian design. A beautiful end-of-an-era piece that can find plenty of uses for contemporary entertaining. Date ("December, 1899") engraved on underside. Fully marked including maker's and retailer's (E. Jaccard Jewelry Co.) stamps, and no. A9615.
